Custom Design and Installations:
A by TFG, Inc. strives on designing aesthetically pleasing, as well as structurally sound water features. One of the first steps of designing your water feature is size, and location. Placement of your water feature is very important. At Aquascapes by The Fish Guy, Inc. we make sure your water feature is positioned near your living area for visibility, as well as to allow for it to be apart of your everyday routine. Your next big question to ask yourself is what space do I have to work with, and how large or small are you looking to go? A good rule of thumb is to start out with an 8'x11' water feature . . . many people realize they should have gone bigger on the original installation, and end up adding onto their existing feature. Smaller spaces of course are always accommodated. We offer a number of solutions when working with small areas such as our Aquascapes Aquabasin Kits. Please See our Spitters, Foutains, and Bubbling Urns Section for Further Details!!!
Once you have decided upon the layout of your water feature . . many design options become available to you. Options range from; streams, tunnels, fish caves, bridges, lighting, koi, aquatic plantings . .and much more! All your options will be discussed with you during your consultation.

Spring Clean-Outs, Fall Shutdowns, and Winterization Services:
Spring Clean Outs:
Spring Clean Outs are vital to the success of your pond season - especially in the first few weeks of spring. Clean outs will generally consist of removing your fish and placing them in temporary holding while we drain the pond, removing debris, cut back aquatic plants, so we can power wash the rocks and waterfalls. We will next re-install pumps and u.v. sterilizers, repair or add lights and address any other issues before filling the pond. Your fish will slowly be acclimated back into your pond, along with the addition of water conditioners and bacteria to help jump start your new pond season!!!
Fall Shut Downs:
Fall Shut Downs are just as important as Spring-Clean Out's because we begin to prepare your pond for the fall and winter months. During a Fall-Shutdown we will remove all debris that has collected throughout the season, cut back and trim overgrown and dying plants, clean filter pads and debris net, remove your u.v. sterilizer (if applicable) and perform a water change if necessary. We will then add cold water bacteria and water conditioners. To finish we will cover your pond with a net to prevent debris (leaves) from entering your pond during the fall/winter, and take an inventory check of what equipment you may need to get you through the winter.
Winterization:
This is the last service performed to help prevent any unfortunate mishaps during January/February when temperatures can reach 10'F outside - pumps can freeze, ice dams may develop and ponds freeze over. . .
We will re-adjust net and remove any additional debris built up on top of it, remove pumps and check valves (as necessary) to prevent from freezing and cracking. We will add your bubbler and de-icer at this time, and continue to add cold water bacteria to help break down debris and waste during the winter months.
