Goldfish:
The Goldfish, which is a member of the carp family, is one of the earliest fish to be domesticated. Raising goldfish began in Asia, dating back to the 17th century. Today, many of us remember goldfish as our first starter fish from a local pet store, or even a carnival! There are several different types of goldfish ranging from; Shubunkins, Oranda's, Bubble-Eyes, and Lionheads to name a few.

Koi:
Originating from the common carp as well, koi have been kept ornamentally dating back as far as the 18th century. With many variations available today, they make a spectacular addition to any pond!!

Whats Involved?

Care for goldfish is relatively easy; providing they are given ample space to grow with good filtration, and plenty of oxygen! It is important not to overcrowd goldfish, as they tend to be a "dirty fish". Water parameters can turn toxic quickly if not properly cared for. The Fish Guy can help advice on proper care and husbandry for your fancy goldfish!!
